oh ye of the old-tyme GW fandom

...on behalf of someone else (who is not me, really! for total true this time), does anyone in the GW fandom (then or now) recall a rant about how butter is not meant for certain past times? As in, diary product + orifice = misery. Moffit's trying to track it down, and I recall it vaguely but not enough for the google fu. Anyone else remember that post?

(Also, Moffit thinks there might have also been mention of glitter, if that helps ring any bells.)

I don't remember the rant you're referencing, but I by-god remember a lot of substances that were made to serve as lube. I know I perpetrated a few myself. Good times, good times.

I don't know about the rant, but I'm pretty sure the fic was Bast's One Last Tango.

For what it's worth, I believe the fic was meant as a cautionary tale...

Makes sense, seeing how CP's comment was that butter got used in Last Tango in Paris (and then declined to post a clip from the movie as illustration since apparently it's basically a rape scene). I just recall the rant, but not who, where, when, why, or whatever. All I know is it wasn't me who wrote it!

Quite a memorable fic. "You killed me with your fucking butter!" is a line that I'll never forget.

I can easily see this as the basis for a rant or discussion but I don't recall one specifically.

Oi. I'm the guy who made and wore a camo dress a while ago (and the one you kept pestering to cosplay Heero). I wonder if you frequent other online haunts (apart from the DW-LJ continuum, that is)? I haven't been maintaining my old journal for a while now except to read updates from my old friends and feeds, and it'd be handy to have some other means to connect. I'm not quite sure about how you can reply in private either but I think anonymous comments on my old LJ start out screened by default and I can keep them screened or delete them once I've read them.

Someone I kept pestering to cosplay Heero... uh, can I get a name? I don't really frequent anywhere else online 'cept for the obligatory work-related stuff, which I keep separate. DW isn't just the best place to find me, it's probably the only place.

That. Like I said, though, I haven't been maintaining the journal for quite a while, mostly because I don't feel like I'm the same person who used to write there anymore (if you get what I mean).

I don't remember this, or only very vaguely, but if there was a rant it was probably on the old GWA forums and they've been down since 2009 or thereabout. :/

Well, if it wasn't salted butter it might not be so bad. Unless you were allergic to dairy products.
