ALSO I did not know you were getting into No. 6! Just the anime, or have you found the novels? I kind of want to read them, but I don't know if there are translations available and my Japanese is barely good enough to navigate Pixiv.

Well, this is embarrassing. Of the anime, the only series I know well enough to even be able to name characters are FMA, Kuroshitsuji, and No. 6. And I only know the first FMA series, at that, and I stopped (temporarily, I suspect) with the fifth episode of No. 6 because I'll need to speed-watch through whatever number of episodes it takes before Shion adjusts to his new reality and stops triggering my embarrassment squick.

So this gives me a grand total of one series I could guess about at all. In the spirit of the thing, I'm going to guess Ciel, but for all my obsessive yammering in your direction over these past few days, I'm not giving that more than 70% or so confidence.

(What it does tell me is that you're the person I should ask when I'm looking for new series to watch. Which won't be this week, but is bound to happen eventually . . . )

Yes, No.6 -- reading the manga adaptation as well, but afaik there's no translations for the novels. There might be a fan-version out there, but I haven't found 'em. For now, I'm just enjoying the anime.

I am glad you're enjoying it! So am I, but mostly for the shallowest of reasons. Waltzing and good-night kisses and ahhhhhhh I eat it up with a spoon. Plus I adore Safu and her straightforwardness! Damn, that's a shame about the novels. I don't want spoilers, exactly, but it'd be interesting to see what's different.

Yes, but No.6 also offers a really good story in there, too. From what I hear, the novels go more into the darker side of Sion's personality, but the anime's just not going to have enough episodes to explore quite that deeply. Bummer.

I wouldn't have guessed about 13, but now that I see it I'm not surprised.

(Nor do I entirely disagree. If he didn't have so much competition, he might be my favorite too. Also, strangely and randomly, I have a pair of black boots that are terrifyingly like his, with the line of giant buckles and the over-the-knee-ness and everything. Have had for years. I may need to pull them out and start wearing them again, even though they hurt my feet.)

My favorite characters are the unexplained ones. Every now and then, this is the main character (ie Hei, Heero) but more often it's a secondary (sometimes even tertiary) character. They're ciphers in the background, and that makes me curious, and I tend to favor that which intrigues me.

ahhhh, I wish I could find boots like that, now! I used to boots somewhat like that -- with the buckles -- though only to mid-shin, and they were motorcycle boots. Not really made for walking in. Bummer.

The story is interesting, I'm waiting to see how MAGIC PARASITE BEES works out before I make any judgments one way or the other about it, though. XD Oh man, I could really go for more of Sion's darker side, so that's kind of disappointing... Is it only a 13-episode run, then? A bummer indeed; I guess I'll have to hope the anime is popular enough that someone feels like translating the novels.

I'm a random person who's planning on rec'ing your GW story All of Me over at fancake, and while I was poking around for links to the fic, I discovered that you have a DW! :D

Before I post the rec (which just has to be sometime before the 15th of September), I was wondering if you had any other places it was archived besides GWAddiction. I can't find it on your DW, is it here but I'm not seeing it? :)

Anyhow, just letting you know that I'm going to rec it, in case you have any other archives that you want me to include. Also, I'm just totally chuffed to find my authors of some of my old favorite fanfic on DW. :D

I have stuff from the FMA fandom, over on scimitarsmile.com, and... now that I think of it, I think there's some stuff on this journal that never got put on GW (it was written after GW stopped updating). AO3 is one of those things where I kind of recoil in horror. Mostly b/c I had to upgrade Scimitar from static to fully database-driven, and the experience left me more than a bit burned and definitely traumatized. It's not that I have anything against AO3, mind you. It's just that I've done enough story-conversion for one lifetime! So, maybe someday...

(also, I forget my manners -- sorry, long day! -- thank you for the rec! I'm very flattered. All of Me remains one of my favorite stories I've ever written, maybe because it feels like it stands up well, somehow. Or maybe it's just that I always liked Relena, and wanted something that hinted at how much the story's world would've lost without her.)

I totally understand about the story conversion thing! I recently had to hand-format only a few thousand words of fic for posting, and I wanted to rend my eyes out.

I just wanted to drop you a link to something really cool that I found that could help save a lot of time when formatting fic into HTML. Basically, it allows you to search by format in a word or Open Office file, and then place all the code around it similar to find and replace. You might find it useful for any future fic that you work on/write! :D

And before I dash, I totally agree with you about Relena. She's definitely an entire world of possibility for the GW canon, and I think your story did a great job of showing what it would mean - and the possibilities it would close off - to lose her.
