1. Almost done with ep15/16; Zechs is far more complex (and not nearly as insane) than I'd realized.

2. Is there anyone who minds being quoted as a commenter? Tyr has begun archiving the analyses, and I was considering quoting some of the folks who'd commented as additional points-of-view on the essays. Anyone not okay with that?

3. Why is it, in the RPGs, that the Quatre-players are always the most personable? I find it intriguing that although poor QRW is a bleeding heart wuss in fanfic, in rpgs, he's more often than not (given what I've browsed in the past three months) a gentleman who'd offer you a drink if you're in his house, but someone who wouldn't hesitate to deck you if you accosted him in a dark alley. And he's played as someone who, having decked you, wouldn't even wince at bruised knuckles, but carry on. Kudos to you Q-players out there.

Zechs true insanity doesn't really start until he joins up with the White Fang.

Well, he didn't exactly start off from a place of pure stability, based on what I'm seeing in these episodes. White Fang is starting to make more sense, in that respect.

1) Good to know that Zechs has something to commend him besides his looks. ;) Looking forward to seeing your take on him.

2) If you think anything I said is useful, go ahead. I freely admit that a good chunk of my GW-knowledge is a combination of fanon and listening to people rant about how inaccurate said fanon is, though. *laugh*

3) Well, would you want to play a character you disliked/had no respect for? Particularly for months at a stretch? Quatre-players are going to be people who not only love the character, but know him very well, and aren't going to play him as the wuss you find in so many fanfics where he's basically a plot-device. Anyone who knows Q well enough to play him is going to know that canon-Q is a person who is polite, well-bred - and quite capable of injuring/killing anyone who tries to stop him from doing what he feels right. :)

re Q, see my comments to Mikke. I didn't mean to imply that they wouldn't play Quatre respectfully, but that of the RPGs I've been watching, the ones who are quickest to make newcomers feel at home seem to be the Quatres (with the Trowas a close second, in games where a Trowa is active).

3) *oddly pleased by that despite the fact that she hasn't played in months*
Well, nobody wants to play a character that they have no respect for. ^^; But people who play Quatre, usually like Quatre, so they also emphasize the features of him that they most admire. Like him being kind, and socially adept, and intelligent, and gay.

Well, I meant more that the Quatres are the most personable of the players. Odd, but the Duos seem to be the most reticent with newcomers, and not nearly as friendly as one might expect. It's the Quatres who seem to take on the informal role (echoing the character, I suppose?) of welcoming new observers into the game.

It's very hard to play a character that you don't identify with consistently - the kind of person who would play the character most able/willing to draw in others to work with them (witness the Manguanacs) would also be the kind of person who values that kind of ability and tries to manifest it themselves.

Duo-fans, on the other hand, are probably responding first to his individualism, independence, and street-wise nature - all of which means they're more likely to size the new people up first, kind of friendly but distant until they get the new person's measure - while Trowa-players I'd guess are responding to his cool confidence, which would give them the self-assurance to be friendly and welcoming to the new people.

Of course, I'm probably stereotyping and overgeneralizing... assuming I'm not just flat-out full of it. ;)

Feel free to quote me if you feel the urge, although I haven't been commenting much lately. Being quoted makes me feel all edumacated and junk. ^_~

No problem. I don't mind (if you really think there's something worthwhile in my comments to archive...). :)

Quote the all-powerful Cozz! She enjoys that sort of thing! Er... yeah. If you find something, me doesn't mind. *nod* Of course... most of what I'll say is complete bullcrap err special, but if you find something... *is all giddy*

And about Quatre RPGers, I agree. They always seem to be the more... well, not necessarily social or even kind, but rather... studious? Like they always usually make the most point of responding to comments, and the always seem to greet new guys with a certain "Nice to meet you, these are the ropes" sorta guy. He's always the kind of character you turn you when you need to ask a question or something, the one that just naturally seems to run the roost in a way. What I love though is when you get him angry... well... not you but some random person that says something very very stupid. It's so fun to watch those Quatre RPers dismantle the Evil Ones with a few short words and a simple click. Scary, really. I've seen them all get angry at one time or another, but lemme tell you, Quatre is the worst.

*grin*
