This morning when I was out on my usual morning mission of soda-fountain-soda (okay, you people who hanker for some coffee shop's coffee to get your day started can now speak up in my defense), I was chatting with the guy at the convenience store about the (finally!) done -- or at least this stage of it -- major project. Not a long explanation, mind you, but long enough to get that strange sense of eyes drilling a hole in the back of my head. Thinking I'd been holding up the line or something, I turned to see and discovered this college-age girl gawping at me. I stopped short, staring in response.

"Wow," she said, "when you talk, I can actually hear the commas."
