I think it might've been in someone's essay, reprinted or quoted online? Or just something tossed off, and now it's been repeated... thing is, it's true. That's what's (mildly) annoying: because it's what's popular, and then I look at my own writing and think, I ain't got nothing like that.

Hell, I don't even have any vampires in my stories. Sheesh. I fail at life. *headdesk*
