I think the real point where I kicked the Mistborn series was about a third into the second book, when I realized the protag has no friends. Like, the only other women who show up are either villains, bubble-heads, or teachers. Both the character and the narrative act like none of them are on Our Protag's level. Like they're just, y'know, female, but the protag is something extra-speshul because she hangs with the guyz.

Thanks for the suggestion, put Wheel of the Infinite to my to-read list!
