kaigou: so when do we destroy the world already? (3 destroy the world)
From: [personal profile] kaigou
Please note that I'm not trying to suggest that if everyone just ate, slept, meditated, and exercised well enough they'd be fine, because that's just nonsense.

I think it's more that you can't discount those aspects as influences on how we do -- regardless of where we stand in balance at start, and I find it just as aggravating when someone dismisses them as I do when someone says that if you eat right and get enough sleep, you won't get depressed. (AS IF.)

One of the hardest things about the wacky disjointed schedules that happen with distractable ADD/ADHD brain -- a result similar to what you get with depression's apathy -- is that food and sleep are one of the first things to go. And that just makes any work you do to regain balance that much harder... so way I see it, for some folks, managing those basic needs can be part of what really does keep them in balance. And I don't think that should be treated as though it's nothing. It's a lot of something, and I say that as someone impressed by anyone who can manage and maintain that something, since it's a something that I have such trouble with.
