And my point as a deconstructionist is that to reinvent/reselect those ingredients, first you need someone to come along and unbake the existing cake so you have a clear idea of the ingredients used in the original recipe, and can see more clearly what could change and what that might get you. Otherwise you really are just trying to bake a new cake with the father's soufflé recipe -- so to dismiss the feminist critique in this case is, IMO, unwise, because it's the precursor that got us to where we can even raise the questions (and answers) of what it means to be 'genderqueer'.
