Excellent post! Thank you VERY much for writing this up. It all makes perfect sense to me. Reminded me of the irritation I felt when everyone and their mother was recommending Memoirs of a Geisha and She's Come Undone to me. I read both, and thought it was pretty damn obvious both were written by men. It made my blood boil to listen to everyone going on and on about how "authentic" the books were and how the male authors had done such a good job "capturing" the female experience. WHATEVER.
