I answered it in her eljay, so I guess that means it's my turn.

Pretend for a minute that the only contact you have ever had with me is through my fic. We've never exchanged LJ comments or emails, never hung out in chat or on IM, never talked on the phone or met each other at a convention, none of that stuff. The only thing you know about me is the kind of fic I write. Based on the way I write my characters, and the way they speak, think, and behave, what does that say to you about what kind of person I am, my attitudes and opinions about real-life issues?

I thought you were more conservative than you are. I think it was all the guns. ^^;;; Although the threesome sex made me think, well, maybe she's a kinky conservative. Also, and not entirely apropos, but what the hell - when I saw the title for "Dancing With The Rude Boys", I had a flicker of hope that maybe, somehow, someone had answered my secret prayers and written Trowa with a Vespa. Or with a skinny tie and doing the pogo. Either/or.

...imma shuddup now. >.>;;

I take that back. It was sockren's fics I was refering to! I always confuse the two of you, don't ask. Just because both names start with s. I'm simple-minded...

I had a little crush on you after reading Nothing Like the Sun, actually. You were kind of like a larger-than-life mama/hero figure all rolled into one for me. You just seemed bad ass. Probably, like Windsor said, because of all the knowledge of guns, and how to build things.

(Hee! And your friends get to read this!)

I figured you were well educated, but not pretentious about it. Your writing's well researched--I don't know this for sure or not, but I'm guessing you're really well-read in science, especially physics.

That you have a wide range of interests, enjoy doing research, are broad-minded, pro-racial/sexual equality, and romantic in a ... practical sort of way. :P

You want kinky conservative, look no further than [livejournal.com profile] zania. Me, I just like things that go BOOM.

(I was gonna write a Vespa, because if anyone could keep it running, it'd be Tro, but I just never seemed to fit it in...)

Yeah, but the similiarity (I'd hope) ends at about the 'o' following the 'S'.

I'm all about the research. What amuses me is that you post this, and I read it just after I'd gotten off the phone from an hour-long conversation with a DEA agent doing background research. Yeah. What I don't know, I know who to ask. That's the secret, really.

Well of course you are! [beams] Because I'm just so very smart and talented and am never, ever wrong. [nods firmly]

Yes, yes it does! I just tend to confuse names a lot, don't mind me...

Ha! Talk about timing, there.

I have a friend skilled in engineering, and another one who wanted to go into premed for a while, so that's who I usually run to for research. If not, then I'm at the mercy of the Internet for the most part.

Even so, I spend so much time just researching for fics.

Oh, well yeah - Zania's like the queen of kinky conservativism. If we could just get her to start a political splinter group...oh, the fun!

(Wouldn't he be perfect on a Vespa? With the Rudie-style jacket with the Union Jack or the Specials patch pinned to the back? Seriously! Who are we going to finagle into writing that for us?)

*whipcrack!*

This comment isn't as late as it seems. Really.

The impression I got from your fic was that you were very, very wise. Down-to-earth, tough, not conservative or liberal but very practical. Intelligent, of course, but the best thing about your fic is that your intelligence doesn't show in big words or flowery diction, it shows in smart dialogue and realistic characterization. People talk like people talk and act how people act. Overall, very smart. And very intimidating because of it. ;)

And this reply is just post-dated. Really.

Wise. *preens* Hoo, baby.

I find it amusing when people consider me intimidating. I mean, most do. I just can't always seem to figure out why, though perhaps the glare & the snarkiness in person might have something to do with that. Hrm. Just a theory, mind you.
