One of the things, yes, but I didn't mention it because in a greater scheme, it should be irrelevant. Sometimes coming down to the specifics gives people the opening to say things like: oh, well, see, that's animation, so it's not important enough to warrant that kind of scrutiny. Or, it's just a kid's movie! Or, I didn't like that series anyway. Or... whatever.
The issue is, and should be, much larger than one fandom, even if that one fandom is an excellent stand-in for Hollywood's hypocritical cries about what we-the-viewers are willing to stomach & pay for.
(I mean, did they learn NOTHING from the blockbuster success that was Crouching Tiger? And that went into the theaters with SUBTITLES, people! It can be done, and it can make a million dollars at the same time!)
