I think in some ways he discounts himself, privately, and just puts up a huge front daring anyone else to do the same.
I think so too, and that's part of what makes him so endearing, to think that behind the over confident grown man still hides a little insecure child yearning for affection. It makes him that much more human and realistic. The 'beast' is flawed, how touching.
Mookyul's already effectively selling his own body to retain his place in one person's heart, after that, what's some words and roses and getting down on one knee?
It's true but those two things aren't on the same level. Sure it all emanates from his neediness and fear of being abandoned but it doesn't determine all his actions, he consciously chose to open up to Ewon and make himself vulnerable in the process. Even if he whores himself to the "old man", he always puts up a bold front before him, reminds him that it's the old man who wants him *barf* and that he will have no qualms at tearing him down once he's released from his promise. On the other hand, he could very well have chosen to keep on putting up the same act towards Ewon "I'll make sure to dump your ass as soon as I get tired of you" but instead he chose to be honest and expose his true feelings. That's why I think it's relevant that he forsakes his pride for Ewon.
I hadn't noticed the reversal of roles but it's so true, they definitively have a lot in common and at the same time are somewhat polar opposites, no wonder they attract themselves.
Boy oh boy would I be happy if this goes on for 15 volumes, we've already reached such intensity at a third of the story *shivers in anticipation*
