I'm gonna hire you or something, because I think you're tapped into the Yoo-vein. You mentioned above the possible consequences for Ewon, and here you nailed something that's been fidgeting in my head while considering the details of the next post -- the consequences for Mookyul. I can't help but wonder if he looks at his own emotional pain/rejection upon Ewon leaving, and -- by extension/projection -- decides that if he were to leave the Chairman, that it would cause the Chairman similar pain... which might cause him to cleave even closer because if there's one thing Mookyul is, it's definitely loyalty to the absolute ends.
On the other hand... I also think of Ewon's accusation that the Chairman is being manipulative/controlling because he doesn't want to give up Mookyul, even if he acts indifferent. Mookyul says something like, "he's not like that," but given all the other tiny bits that have implied a basic insecurity on Mookyul's part, a little flag went up for me. Instead of the face value of it, there's some critique-reader part of me wondering whether what Mookyul really means is "he wouldn't put out that much effort for me," that is, to consider himself disposable, and only worth effort so long as he holds up his end of the deal (more deals, sheesh).
He may see the apparent indifference as the truth of things, but I'm not sure whether he's just not sly enough (a la Ewon) or confident enough to dig below the surface to consider whether the Chairman's facade is true all the way to the bone. At least, that was my impression on reread, that Mookyul was denying something but what he was denying wasn't the same as what Ewon was affirming.
