Perfectly decent story. Crisis moment. Hero is shanghai'ed by bad guys, dragged around behind his car, and shoved into the trunk.

Except.

Hero drives a 911.

That's a rear-engine vehicle.

*sigh*

*ponders* You know, if the bad guys didn't want to make it obvious they were shoving somebody into a trunk, they totally should go with a rear-engine vehicle. If you're yelling and struggling at the front of a car, passers-by will assume you're having engine trouble.

...Yeah, I know, I need to go to bed. *slinks off*

That would be a no.

Yes and you'd never get a full-sized human in the luggage space that is available in one of those...

I know where my head is at when I realized that I kept reading 'Heero' instead of hero. *headdesk*

I would totally have missed that. I can't tell one car from the other except by its colour.

But don't give 1st century AD Romans stirrups, or have Caesar's legionaries run around in lorica segmentata (recently seen in an illustration - does no one edit non fiction books these days? :(

lol! running into stuff like that has got to hurt.

I'm starting to get worn down by homonym mistakes lately (is that what you call them?). "peel" vs. "peal"... I'm starting to think they're normal; I think my brain is getting corrupted.

Wouldn't have noticed that, but would have if somebody tried to do that in a VW Beetle.

(Or if some movie scriptwriter tried to make me believe that all German pilots in WWI used the Fokker Dreidecker and painted their planes red.)

Maybe this story has a Very Dark Ending and what's not being mentioned is that they cut the hero up into- okay, probably not. I would not have noticed that detail either, being blissfully uknowledgeable about cars...but if the author went as far as choosing a kind of car, they shoulda done the research.

Yeah, read it out to husband and he wanted to know how come someone that small could fit into the boot of a 911, being that it's tiny.

He suggested that the author might want to use a Bentley Continental. Cachet and bootspace.

Then again, Heero may never make it to "full size human". XD

I guess 5'1 and 98lbs doesn't count as "full-sized" human? Not that we, uh, drove around when she was in the bonnet, we were just testing... y'know... not that I was there at the time. *whistles nonchalantly*

Now, trying to get anyone in the boot of a 914 is out of the question -- unless they're only about 9" thick from front to back and no longer than about 45" inches or wider than about 36"... and no getting them in the bonnet, either, since half that space is taken up with the 15-gal gas tank. Not that I've ever tried to get anyone into the boot or bonnet of a 914, mind you, though I did manage to squeeze seven people into my 914 -- yes, duh, with the targa top off.

Once.

We made it all the way around the block and back again. That was enough for me (and the new shocks!).

Bit on the small side, I'd say...

I was once one of 11 small children crammed into a VW beetle though... Two of them on the parcel shelf at the back.

whois
