And by being happy you may not think about digging more. I won't know that the writer is unhappy or feeling itchy with a story unless I am told or the story is startlingly missing something. Gah! Not sure I am saying this well, but the reader may not realize something is missing when first reading it. Only thru talking with the writer will a beta know that the writer isn't happy and can go back and look again.
An uncensored environment is lovely to have as I can still remember my fiction class at college that pretty much shut me down as a writer with the teacher's attitude toward what he thought I was writing. Not what I was writing mind you but...he thought that I was and hated the genre. Siigh.
