kaigou: (1 olivia is not impressed)
From: [personal profile] kaigou
I had the impression that RaceFail stretched well past the blogosphere. It got reported/discussed in plenty of mainstream publications, after all, and I also had the impression it had no small impact on the industry itself, which was hooked into a great deal of the furor. If nothing else, it certainly had ramifications on many industry-related con panels. I can only guess that the editor's and agent's brains had taken a vacation to miss the story's implications.

Really sad, because if it weren't for that, it would be a really good story. There's so much else it gets right, but that one detail ended up overshadowing everything else for me.

Another case of 'thank goodness I didn't actually pay for that'. Unlike The Goblin Emperor, which I'd got as ebook and then went and bought as hardback. Very rare when I do that, but I'd really like more of that world, and it seemed like voting with my wallet was my only way to help make sure that happens.
